These include team-working, leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills, as well as self-confidence, emotional intelligence, reflectiveness, and stress tolerance.

You’ll also prepare for your future through a personalised career development planning process.

Teaching and modules

You’ll start by learning how to recognise and respond to inequality in health and social care.

You’ll also learn the theory and best practice of safeguarding with at-risk children and adults.

In Year 2, you’ll develop your knowledge and ability in the areas of mental health, child protection, and common long-term conditions.

Finally, you’ll explore how cultural values and beliefs affect people’s interactions with health and care services, learn how to work in palliative and end of life care, and complete a major project on a relevant topic that interests you.
