You’ll learn about regulatory, legal and economic frameworks, the latest thinking in sustainability, and developments in digital technologies and Building Information Modelling (BIM).

Practical experience comes from site visits, guest lectures, live briefs set by industry, and an annual bridge construction project.

The construction industry is varied and an accredited degree can lead to a number of careers, including project and site management.

We encourage you to attend regular CPD events to start to build your own industry networks. The course offers opportunities to visit construction sites, attend guest lectures, and learn from staff with extensive industrial and professional experience.

The average salary for a construction manager in the UK is £40,002 per year (Payscale.com), and experienced construction/site managers can earn well over £60,000 per year.

Study at ARU and learn the common materials and methods of housing construction.

You'll explore the main elements of a building's structure, the internal environment, and issues that need to be evaluated when considering building developments and their feasibility. You’ll also understand commercial and industrial buildings.

Develop the skills to give sound advice to clients, and to build safely with consideration for the environment. You’ll also examine supply chain management and financial administration, production planning, cash flow forecasts and professional practice.
